How It Works

The Welcome Church project provides general resources in this websites for churches interested in welcoming newcomers to Canada. Churches and faith communities who register with Welcome Church will be given access to the Welcome Church secure internal portal that provides additional resources, sharing our experience & opportunities together to build a welcoming community in Canada. In the coming months, we will be adding the capability for registered churches and communities to connect securely with each other in order to support newcomers on the move within Canada.

To learn more about how you and your church can be equipped as a welcoming church, register your church or community here and follow the instructions. Individuals who register will have access to the Welcome Church Resource Hub. Churches which register will also be featured on the Welcome Church interactive map. The Welcome Church team will be in touch with you to learn more about how Welcome Church can support you.

Once you have access to the Resource Hub, we would encourage you to complete the core Welcome Church training consisting of nine videos and a brief reflection document. Churches that complete this training will be featured on the interactive map as Welcome Churches and newcomers will be able to contact them directly through the Welcome Church secure interface.

If you are a refugee or are part of a church interested in welcoming refugees, visit the CanRefugee website for resources and help.
